Thanks for the tip, thats good to know. Let me ask you this hehehe I haven't traveled much in Iran. I've only been to Tabriz, Mashad, and Tehran. Thats it. I've only been to Iran 3x in my life. I was wondering what are your top 3 favorite cities to visit in Iran?????

Balkh is in North Afghanistan. There are 3 cities. They call them the holy cities of Persian literature. 1. Balk in Afghanistan 2. Nishapour in Iran. 3. Samarkand in Uzbekistan.

I hope 1 day I can see all 3, but I heard Balk doesn't exist anymore because it was destroyed. Nishapour I'm not sure about, but Samarkand is still alive and has very very beautiful buildings.

Yes, I know. However, my dad and mom understand 90% of Hafez without any problems. Occasionally there will be a few older word that even Balochis, Kurds, and Pashtuns might even have problems understanding lol.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Qashqai people are evidence of Turkic influence in Iran. Most live in Shiraz I believe, with some in Isfehan and neighboring cities in the South. They speak a different dialect of Turkmen/Azerbaijani. Hey bro, how are the Balochis doing??? I feel very sorry for them, they live in Jahandam(Hell) I think because its like desert in south of Iran. Balochistan is worst than Ahvaz and Obadan. At least today Ahvaz, is urbanized and industrialized.

Yes, but Mulana's first language was Farsi. Even on every website, and encyclopedia you go to they say he was a Persian man born in Konya Turkey. Mullana speaks many langauges. Persian, Arabic, Turkish, and Azerbaijani to name a few from what I read. But remember my bro, Azerbaijanis, Persians, of today are all mixed. Persians and Azerbaijanis both have persian, turkish, arabic, jewish, caucasian, assyrian blood. Maybe even more. Same with Kurds.

There is some truth to that but not quiet. Main langauge was in Farsi not Azerbaijani. Azerbaijani langauge was always 2nd in Iran. Even during Qajars they spoke Farsi first???? Azeri second??? not sure... but Do you remember Shah Abbas??? He's half Persian and half Georgian.

Hey I was wondering. Have you ever been attacked, harrassed, or bothered, by a Persian??? Because you spoke Azerbaijani??? Does such a thing happen in Tehran or Karaj??? I'm just curious or any other BIG Persian city like Ahvaz, Shiraz, or Isfehan??? When I was in Iran 3 years ago, alot of people spoke Azerbaijani on the streets haha.

Ok, you are right. MSN is American. If you want my Yahoo, let me know, if not, we can always talk on Azercommunity. It seems pretty efficient and reliable. Azercommunity is like email in a way lol. Except you don't have to worry about it being filtered which is good.

I forgot to tell you, I am a social democrat and marxist. So it is against my belief to have Azerbaijani's and Persians separated. OR Whites, Blacks, Asians, and Hispanics. There are Spanish people I hate, and there are Spanish people I love. I took 2 years of Spanish in Highschool so I can bring unity here in California. Most of the people I know don't learn Spanish because they are racist. But I learned Spanish so I can be friends with Spanish people and make them feel American and welcomed. In Iran I think Persianificiation, or in Russia Russification, has to stop. This is stupid. Azerbaijanis should use Farsi to communicate. BUT Azerbaijanis should have the right to learn their langauge in school, TV, and in govt.

Yes, Azerbaijani culture must stay in Iran. Azerbaijani culture has always been part of Iran for 1000 years. I hope people like Ahmadinejad and Khameini can speed up the process. Did you know Mullana??? The great Persian poet Mullana learned Azerbaijani from Shamze Tabrizi out of respect because before if I can remember correct. Mongolians were dominating Iran. Tabrizi told Mullana, hey man not all Turks are bad people, it is the rulers of the different nations that want to separate people. So hopefull in the future Iran can allow Azerbaijanis to use their language in schools and government, not just on streets and have their own TV media.
